HOW TO APPLY
TO PRESENT
A WORKSHOP

Please read this webpage and carefully follow the instructions before submitting an application to present a workshop. Applications to present a concurrent session, Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) session, poster session, and student showcase presentation must be submitted on a separate form.

The Georgia Educational Technology Conference is dedicated to the professional development of educators. During more than 20 years, the conference has played a key role in helping educators increase their understanding of the role of technology in education. GaETC brings together approximately 2,500 educators to learn about the latest in educational technology and to provide a forum for discussion among professionals concerned with education. GaETC includes concurrent sessions, Bring Your Own Laptop (BYOL) sessions, poster sessions, student showcase presentations, and workshops--all focusing on the latest in technological innovations and their impact on teaching and learning. GaETC also features nationally known speakers and commercial exhibits featuring state-of the-art technology.

One of our conference exhibitors, Atomic Learning, will provide all main presenters with a complimentary six-month subscription ($99.99 value). This gift recognizes the important role of our presenters at GaETC 2008!

DEADLINES AND CRITERIA
Applications to present workshops must be made online. Applications must be received by June 1, 2008. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered. Notification of application status will be mailed to Presenter 1 (main presenter) by June 30, 2008. The conference program committees carefully review all submissions. Selection criteria are designed to ensure that the workshops will be of high quality, will be of interest to conference attendees (primarily Georgia K-12 teachers, administrators, and support staff), will include a strong hands-on component, and will effectively use the entire block of time.

PRESENTERS
A workshop may be presented by any number of people; however, only the first two presenters will be identified on the GaETC website and listed in the printed conference program. Additional presenters can be identified in the session narrative, but they will not be listed on the website nor in the printed program. GaETC will provide one complimentary conference registration per workshop. The person listed on the Application to Present as "Presenter 1" (main presenter) will automatically be registered and receive the complimentary registration. All other presenters must register and pay to attend the conference.

VENDOR PRESENTATIONS
Approximately 15 percent of GaETC workshops and concurrent sessions are presented by vendors representing technology-related products and services from either a “technical” or “instructional” perspective. These workshops are not “infomercials," but are intended to offer valuable information to attendees, who pay extra fees for workshops. All vendor presentations are labeled as such in the program. All vendor presenters must be registered exhibitors at GaETC.

WORKSHOP HANDOUTS
Handouts are the responsibility of the presenter. Workshop presenters must provide detailed handouts of all information discussed in the workshop. The Georgia International Convention Center has a business services center with copy and fax machines available. We will also post a website link to your handouts. Contact Mary Starke at mstarke@gaetc.org for additional information.

EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE
GaETC will provide these items in each workshop room: Computer workstations with Internet connectivity for participants and for the presenter, digital projector, projection screen, sound capabilities, and wireless microphone. All other equipment, including additional computers, peripherals, cords, carts, and multiple outlets, will be the presenter's responsibility. The Microsoft Office suite will be available in most workshop labs. We will attempt to work with you to handle other requirements if your workshop is accepted.

SCHEDULE
Please note that workshops are scheduled before the Conference on Tuesday and during the Conference on Wednesday and Thursday. Your proposal could be accepted for any one of these three days.
