Participants

  With a wide variety of strands and topics, the GaETC will benefit teachers, media specialists, technology coordinators, technology specialists, special educators, vocational teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, curriculum directors, staff development coordinators, Title I coordinators, and everyone else interested in educational technology.
Conference Site   All conference activities will be held at the Georgia International Convention and Trade Center in College Park, Georgia.  The GICC is located near the airport in Atlanta.
Lodging and Shuttles   Information about area hotels and motels offering special services to GaETC participants (including shuttles to GICC)
Food Options   Information about meals and snacks at GICC and area restaurants
Special Events   Conference attendees will enjoy a variety of special events.  Details will be posted when available.
Student Showcase   The Student Showcase is a new feature of the Conference.
Schedule   The times of conference workshops, concurrent sessions, and special events
Registration   Information on deadlines, fees, and procedures--all handled by McRae & Company, Inc.
Professional Learning Units Credit   Attendees will be eligible to receive PLU (formerly SDU) credit through the Educational Technology Training Center at Macon State College.
GaETC 2006

  If you are in our mailing list database, you will receive email announcements and the preliminary program (with workshop descriptions) by postal mail.  If you would like to be added to (or removed from) our mailing list or to change your existing contact information, please fill out our online form.
Exhibitors and Sponsors   Approximately 200 companies will display the latest and best in educational technology in the exhibit hall. Several of these companies are also sponsors of the Conference.  Exhibitors will also make presentations featuring their educational technology products in current sessions and workshops. Entrance to the exhibit hall is included in the conference registration fee.  A $25 Exhibit Hall Pass is available on site to those who want to visit the exhibit hall only. 
Keynote and Featured Speakers   Wavelength, a comedic team specializing in unique interpretations of issues in education, will present "A Funny Thing Happened Leaving No Child Behind" during the opening session.  Several concurrent sessions feature nationally known speakers in the field of education and technology.  The Leadership strand is organized by the Georgia Department of Education.
Workshops   Conference workshops offer a variety of opportunities for extended hands-on learning experiences, in three-hour blocks.
Concurrent Sessions   Over 200 concurrent sessions will be presented by educators and representatives from commercial companies, with special sessions by featured presenters and conference sponsors.  Descriptions will be posted on this website when the selections are made.
Conference Updates   During the conference, attendees can keep up with changes in conference activities and schedules by reading the daily announcements flyer, available at the GaETC Information Booth.  Changes will also be posted on this website.

Accommodations for
Special Needs
  All conference sites are wheelchair accessible and fully equipped to meet the needs of persons with special needs. If you require special assistance covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act, please check the box on the registration form; a committee member will contact you.
Internet Access   Attendees who want to check email or browse the Internet at GaETC 2006 will find computer stations throughout the building.
Emergency Medical Services   An emergency medical technician will be on duty at the First Aid Station during conference hours.
Conference Attire   The Georgia International Convention Center is large; participants will do a great deal of walking. Comfortable shoes and clothes are recommended!
