FEATURED PRESENTER

Bringing the nation's classrooms into the technology age is Chris Moersch's dream. He understands the challenges administrators, teachers, and parents face everyday while trying to connect students to the increasingly complex subjects that must be mastered to be successful in today's world.

In response to those challenges, Chris founded the National Business Education Alliance (NBEA) in 1987 to help pique student interest and performance across all academic areas while elevating the level of technology implementation in the classroom.

Chris Moersch

Chris has continued his dedicated quests in the educational community by facilitating staff development sessions and leadership academies for over 50,000 educators nationwide, designing several popular software programs including Learning Quest's Electronic Portfolio and LabQuest, writing dozens of integrated curriculum instructional modules, publishing numerous papers and articles on enhancing learning with school's existing technologies, and speaking frequently to both national and state organizations of professional educators and administrators.

Beyond Hardware--Using Existing Technology to Promote Higher-Level Thinking
Chris has recently published this book through the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) describing the New Technology Infrastructure, a blueprint for instructional technology reform in the nation's schools. This book provides a systematic approach for educators eager to promote higher-order thinking skills in the face of limited technology budgets. The author demonstrates why decision makers should invest technology dollars in teachers rather than in fancy new hardware. He provides a framework for using existing technology to develop and revise lesson plans that promote critical thinking skills. Includes the author's empirically validated assessment tool, and a detailed vision for future applications of instructional technology.
