to introduce teachers to creative ways of integrating technology at every
level of learning. Participants will be provided with materials and guided
through simple steps for creating learning units that aid in the accomplishment
of objectives that are directly related to grade-specific standards.
The learning units follow a theoretical model that ties objectives, instructional
strategies, technology, and assessment together to form activities that
promote success for learners in every grade.

when laptop computers have no wires attached? The whole dynamics
of teaching and learning change. Hear ideas from Lynn Dye who loves
the flexibility of a wireless portable lab in her media center for student
projects, teacher training, and parent orientation. Participants
in this workshop will be involved in small group research projects using
exciting mobile learning tools like USB microscopes, probeware, and scanners
to gather data. Then each group will investigate iTools as an opportunity
for publishing their research findings on the Web.

to use. Instructional rubrics help teachers teach as well as evaluate
student work. In this hands-on session you learn the “why” and “how”
of implementing rubrics. We will take a look at free online rubric
templates and will create an original rubric with MS Excel.

Participants will use i-Movie2
to edit captured digital video clips, arrange them in storylines and then
add special effects for professional-looking videos. They will enhance
their movies by adding music, sound, and video effects and will then polish
them off with titles and closing credits. They will also receive
instruction on how to publish them to the web and to save them to a VHS
tape.
