Steve Edwards has been an agent with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) since 1973, and is currently serving as Special Agent in Charge over the Financial Investigations Unit. Mr. Edwards has spent 13 years in the Financial Investigations, Health Care Fraud, and Computer Crime Investigations. He was the Deputy Director for the State Health Care Fraud Control Unit between September, 1998, and April, 2000.
Steve is active as a Crisis Negotiator for GBI's Special Response Team and is Georgia's State Coordinator to the U.S. Treasury's Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of the National White Collar Crime Center, representing the Southeast Region. He also serves as a committee member on the National Cybercrime Training Partnership (NCTP) State and Local Portfolio.
Nita Edwards works at Honey
Creek Elementary School as a teacher's assistant. She is currently
handling an outreach program on behalf of educators through the GBI. This
outreach program is designed to train teachers to present this curriculum
in their communities along with folks from the criminal justice community.
